• Prints and digital images entered during the past competition year (Jan - Dec)
• Images must be entered in the same category as during the year
• Official record of all entries for each media type during this competition year will be posted and announced by the end of 2009, as below:
  • Prints: sorted by Name & Category on this list (finalized Dec 11) (Owing to unexpected transitions among print chairs this year, the list is incomplete, particularly for the months from January to April. Entries from these months will be accepted, provided the original entry label is on the back of the mount.)
  • Digital images: Check the online procedure below, under Preparation of Entries
• For images that have been entered in both digital and print competitions during the year - enter only one version of that image in the annual composition
  
• Limit on the number of entries per category:
  • PRINTS - 3
  • DIGITAL - 3

• In order to minimize the risk of damage to prints and mats each print should be enclosed in a clear envelope and submitted with the others in a portfolio or flat box designed for holding prints. In addition this lessens the burden on those transporting the prints. (To ensure return of your clear plastic print envelopes, write your name or initials in one corner. In the event the judge decides to review the prints while in the envelopes please use ones that are in good condition, with the name or initials showing only on the back side.)
• With each set of prints include a list showing the full title (for Nature, Latin names are optional), and category (Use this PDF ENTRY FORM). Make extra copies for yourself.
• If you are among those who recycle their mats make sure you append the original (or comparable) ID label to the back of this mat (in upper left corner)
  
• Place a label on the outside of the print container showing your name
• For DIGITAL entries, members can do this online now, as follows:
  • go to the digital upload page and log in
  • click on the button labeled "My 2009 Entries" to see your entries
  • from the far right column choose which images (total of 3 per category) you'd like included in the Annual Competition (As mentioned above under Eligibility, images must remain in the same category in which they were originally entered, as shown on the list..)
  • Then go to the bottom of that page and click on the link entitled "Submit Your Changes".
  • Your selection of images may be changed up until 10 pm on Jan 19.

• Verify that entries on your form are all present on the official list of entries
• For any images entered as both Prints and Digital during the year, make sure that the image has been entered in only ONE of these categories for the Annual Competition

SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES

• Prints - to print chair (or designee) at the last meeting in January
• Digital image choices are entered via the digital upload page, as described above
• DEADLINE - last image competition evening in January. (Jan 13)

ANNE MACKENZIE AWARD FOR FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY

In addition to the usual awards in each category, and Print and Digital Images of the Year, there will be a special cash award of $200. in memory of member Anne MacKenzie who passed away in February 2008. This will be given to the club photographer whose print (any category) in the annual competition best illustrates originality and a creative vision, as determined by a separate judge who is a recognized fine art photographer. During Anne's 15 plus years in the club she was an unwavering advocate for photography that conveyed these attributes, She had a very positive influence on many of the club members, which contributed greatly to the club's reputation for high artistic quality. Her comments on this subject are well worth reviewing.
