ear members,
The first phase of designing our Digital Competition Server is accomplished.
The goals of this project were two-fold:
- to make the submissions easier and more reliable
- to ease the burden of the digital chair in preparing the slide show
The server is now up and running, and ready to receive entries for the next digital competition (May).
Here is the new link (SAVE it):
http://www.ebridgedesign.com/edcomps/ (as of Apr 17, 2006)
It's my test server, eventually to be incorporated into our regular website
Here is a brief description of how to use it:
- Click on Login button in the left green column.
- Enter your "Login Name" and "Password" (previously assigned)
- After login you will be taken to the member main page. Here you can:
- Change your password
- Upload your images
- See what you uploaded
- Modify the uploaded entries - you can change titles, categories, and priorities and also delete one or more entries. If you wish to replace an already uploaded image you must first delete it.
Here is what the upload page looks like.
The board has recently defined a set of new submission rules (the same for all media) regarding the maximum number of images that can be submitted per member in one evening. At present this is 3 images. The software enforces these new rules. Since we cannot predict how many members will participate in a given competition we are asking members to assign a priority rating (1 to 3) for each image. In the event the total number of images is consider excessive, the Chair will eliminate images at the lowest priority.
You may submit your images anytime from now until the deadline (Mon 3 pm before the Wed competition). If after uploading images you decide not to participate in the competition please remember to delete your uploaded entries. In order to participate, one must be physically present at the meeting, barring last minute emergencies.
Please report any questions or problems to me: danysuk@pacamera.com, Like all new software it may need some fine tuning.
Thanks!
Dany Suk
