Judy Kramer Member Judy Kramer's image, entitled "Cholla Greets the Dawn," will be included in the 2011 calendar published by the National Natural Landmarks program of the National Park Service. It was taken at Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. All of the 13 featured photos can be seen soon at http://www.nature.nps.gov/nnl 9-1-10

Dan Hartford New member Dan Hartford's photo "Morning at the Bend" won first place in two recent photo contests: Phase 1 of the Unified Color Technologies True Vision HDR Photo Contest (May 2010), and first place among U.S. entries in the Road Scholar (Elderhostel, Exploritas) Quarterly Photo Contest (Aug 2010) (photo not posted as of Aug 4) 8-4-10
Vardan Aroustamian Vardan Aroustamian's "The Story of a Forgotten Spring" received honorary mention at Pacific Art League's July show, titled "Art Outside the Box", open July 2 to 29. It is on display along with his two other prints at the Pacific Art League in downtown Palo Alto. 7-13-10
Marvin Wax Member Marvin Wax's print "Baylands Rain Storm" won 2nd prize in the 2010 Michael Kellicutt International Photo Competition at the Coastal Arts League Gallery in Half Moon Bay. Prints on display thru July 5, and include those from members Edward Nunez, Gordon Frierson & Branko Radonjic. 6-21-10

Branko Radonjic "Iris" by member Branko Radonjic was among those chosen for online exhibit in "Your Best Shot", a competition sponsored by the RoHo Gallery in Cincinatti. He's in good company! 8-29-09
Bill Jackson Two of member Bill Jackson's images were accepted for a juried exhibit at the Center for the Creative Arts in Fredericksburg, Virginia, from June 28 - July 31. One of them (previously a winner at PACC) is the featured image for the show. 6-27-09

"Don't even think about it!"
Philippe Cailloux This and 14 other prints by member Philippe Cailloux will be shown at his first solo exhibit opening in Los Altos on Fri June 19. The show, entitled "Explorama", is the artist's attempt to convey some of his quirky concepts via graphic explorations, often with surprising and entertaining results, as attested by many who have seen Cailloux's work at club competitions.

John Harrison

Member John Harrison's "Nature's Firefall" photograph from Yosemite was recently selected to be in the North America Nature Photography Association (NANPA) members' showcase for 2009.

Michael Kern Member Michael Kern has done it again! His image of an Olive Baboon in Uganda received the Highly Honored Award in the Creative Division of the 2008 Windland Smith Rice International Nature Photo Competition. It's also on the cover of the Fall issue of Nature's Best Photography magazine, and will be included in the forthcoming Smithsonian Exhibition of winners. 11-26-2008
Xavier Cohen "Winter Storm Sunset in the Gates of the Valley" won the GRAND PRIZE in this year's Canon's annual Photography in the Parks Contest 12-10-2008
Edward Nunez "First Light" by member Edward Nunez made it to the International Conservation Photography Awards 2008 (Flora category). and was exhibited from August 30th to October 12th, in the Museum of History and Industry in Seattle, Washington. 9-12-2008

Entitled "The Freshman", the article documents his remarkable journey from novice to accomplished photographer in just over one year. Rick Stultz Rick Stultz's "Awning" has been published in the Showcase Edition of Camera Arts Magazine (Nov-Dec, 2007). It's one of 54 selected from over 3400 entries by photographers around the world. This edition was published in cooperation with The Center for Fine Art Photography in Colorado

Dany Suk Dany Suk's image "Journey" was one of 50 winning images, out of over 1200 entries in a competition on the 2008 theme of "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles". The exhibition will be on display at The Center for Fine Art Photography in Fort Collins, Colorado from January 25th - February 23rd, 2008.

Judy Kramer Judy Kramer will be the featured artist at the Fire House Gallery exhibit at Avenidas Apr 26 - May 25.  The gallery, located at 450 Bryant Street in downtown Palo Alto, is open Mon - Fri, 10 am-- 4 pm.  Artist's reception (as part of Palo Alto's First Friday Art Walk) on May 4, 6--9 pm.  Judy's exhibit is called "Red Rock Country of the Grand Staircase".
