| "I saw you and I remember you." An evening with scenes from Costa Rica captured during the early 1900s. . "Several years ago I started working with a fine art collector from Heredia, Costa Rica who owns a vast collection of large glass negatives taken by the professional photographer Manuel Gomez Miralles (1886-1965). With an exhibition in mind, I immersed myself in this amazing collection of street and country-side images from this Costa Rica I've only heard about from my parents and grandparents. The rest is history. I will show examples of the restored images as matted 12”x18” archival monochrome prints, and describe my experiences working with the material using modern digital photographic techniques (scanning, retouching and printing). This has been a very meticulous but rewarding experience for me. I hope I am able to convey to you the potential of technology and art for preserving and revitalizing the past."
