ANNUAL MPPA PHOTO COMPETITION

(Instructions for Members of the Palo Alto Camera Club)


ELIGIBILITY

  • Slides and prints entered in the MPPA's past competition year (Sep 1, 2006 – Aug 21, 2007)
  • Here are the official entry lists sorted by maker name:  
    • PRINTS (thru June) 
    • SLIDES (thru May)
    • in addition, images entered thru Aug 21 are acceptable
  • The images must be at the level you entered at the beginning of the year. (If you changed levels later in the year these later images are unacceptable.)
  • There is NO limit on the number of entries per member. However, awards will be limited to three per category per member.

PREPARATION OF ENTRIES

With each set of slides (in a box) or prints (in a portfolio or box) submit a list showing the full title, category AND the level, and club name. Slide categories are General A & B, Nature, Travel, Photojournalism, People and Creative. Print categories are Color A, Color B, Monochrome (B/W), Nature, Travel, Photojournalism, People and Creative. A recommended list format is available here (PDF). Members should retain a copy of their entry list. If you enclose your prints in clear protective envelopes, writing your name on the envelopes will help ensure that they are returned with the prints to you.

HOW TO SUBMIT

SLIDES - to Susan Diederichsen - on or before the MPPA meeting on Aug 21, 2007. The usual rules for slide labeling apply (i.e., title, category, level, maker & club name).

PRINTS - to Al Goroszko - on or before the MPPA meeting on Aug 21, 2007. Prints without an official yellow sticker verifying entry during the current competition year will not be accepted.

DIGITAL - This will be handled by the digital chairs. All entries during the year will be judged.

RETURN OF ENTRIES

Print makers are asked to pick up their prints from the Print Chair at the end of the banquet. The remainder will be returned to the makers at the next meeting in October. Slides will be sorted in four boxes, and returned only to the club representatives at the end of the banquet. Please double-check that you have only your entries in hand.
