Image by Nadine Levin Selected by A Smith Gallery

A Storm Is Brewing on the Horizon, an image by Nadine Levin, was selected for inclusion in the imperfect lens exhibition at the A Smith Gallery in Johnson City, Texas. A Smith welcomed mages captured using toy or pinhole lenses, or any camera using homemade or plastic lenses. Amanda Smith, fine art photographer, educator, and co-director of A Smith Gallery, was the juror.

Storm was also selected for inclusion in “the 27”, a limited-edition hardbound fine art book of twenty-seven images from the exhibition.

Nadine shot A Storm Is Brewing on the Horizon with a Diana F+ film camera. Nadine likes the versatility of the Diana F and Holga film cameras that add an unexpected aspect to her photography. The Diana is a plastic, medium format toy camera known for its intentionally low fidelity, dreamy, and unpredictable aesthetic, due to its simple body and lens.
