Image by Wright Schickli Selected by The Chateau Gallery

Stalked, an image by Wright Schickli, was selected for inclusion in the Lucid – In Dreams exhibition by The Chateau Gallery in Louisville. Beneath the surface of our consciousness, the latent content of dreams illustrates the hidden meaning of our thoughts, drives, and desires. Chateau asked:  What is revealed to you as you sleep and perchance to dream? What images make you stop and ask—am I dreaming? The exhibition runs from September 1 through October 1. Images can be seen online at https://chateaugallery.com/exhibitions/lucid-in-dreams.

Wright says:  This is a photograph of a horsetail at the Emily Renzel Pond[land]s in the Baylands. The lighting was stark/dark/bright, and the horsetail just really scared me, as if I were invading its privacy, and that was a scary dream because I love to walk there from my house.  I think Horsetail might be a better title but given the "Call", I did Stalked.

Set in the heart of Historic Old Louisville Preservation District, The Chateau Gallery, aka TCG, is a contemporary hybrid art gallery and studio with a narrative as captivating as the artwork housed within its walls. The building’s unique Chateauesque Victorian architecture lends itself to the gallery’s name. Throughout its many lives, this building has served as the estate of a tobacco baron, a funeral home, the Kentucky College of Barbering, an unlicensed child care center, a "drug dealer's palace," and a law office.
