Hocking Hills 2025, an image by Wright Schickli, was selected for inclusion in the On-Line Annex portion of the Black Box Gallery’s Lens Work: Trees and Water juried group photo show. Black Box sought to explore the interaction between these two foundational and evocative subjects in landscape and environmental photography. The juror was Todd Johnson, founder and director of Black Box Gallery. Twenty-six images were selected for the Exhibition Gallery, and an additional 50 images were selected for inclusion in the On-Line Gallery Annex. The exhibition runs from August 1 through August 25; and the opening reception will take place on Saturday, August 1. The exhibition may be seen online at https://blackboxgallery.com/Lens Work-Trees and Water-2026-EP.html.
Wright says: I captured this photo in Hocking Hills, Ohio, last year while hiking on a family trip. It’s an outstandingly beautiful area with many striking trees and streams/waterfalls. I highly recommend a visit there and renting a nearby house so you can experience the different times of day. But it is kind of “in the middle of nowhere.”
