Tiny Traveler, Big Lap, an image by Karen Friedmann, has been accepted by the Griffin Museum of Photography for its online Dog Days of Summer group exhibition. The Griffin Museum invited photographers to explore the many ways dogs shape our experiences and imaginations.Featuring 70 artists, their images celebrate and reveal the complex relationship between humans and dogs. Crista Dix, Executive Director of the Griffin, was the juror. The exhibition runs from August 1 through August 30. Karen says: Pets occupy a special place in many people's lives. They are companions, sources of emotional support, and constant presences through life's changes. While every relationship is different, the connection between a person and their pet often reflects deeply human qualities: love, loyalty, vulnerability, and belonging. Such as in this photograph taken in San Francisco of a man and his beloved dog sitting on his lap enjoying a ride on a historic Muni streetcar together.

The Griffin Museum of Photography is dedicated to the art of photography. Through its exhibitions, programs and lectures, the Museum strives to encourage a broader understanding and appreciation of the visual, emotional and social impact of photographic art. Arthur Griffin was born in 1903 in Massachusetts and was the exclusive photographer for the Boston Globe Rotogravure Magazine and also provided the first color photographs in the Saturday Evening Post.
