Two images by Wright Schickli were selected for inclusion in the Shadow Aspect Exhibition at the Praxis Gallery and Photo Arts Center in Minneapolis. Praxis Gallery solicited photographic art that explores the formal, conceptual, and metaphoric implications of the shadow. The juror was Ann Jastrab, Executive Director of the Center for Photographic Art in Carmel. The exhibition will run from August 22 through September 12; and the opening reception will take place on Saturday, August 22, from 6 to 8 PM. You can view the images in the temporary online gallery here:https://www.praxisphotocenter.org/temp-gallery-1-2ab3.
With respect to Pilgrimage, Wright says: This is a photo I captured earlier this year in Tucson at the University of Arizona. It was commencement day, and I was intrigued by the shadows of students wearing gowns while walking through this passageway between a couple of buildings.

And as for Stairwell, Wright says: This is a photo one of the staircases in the main building at Shaker Village in Kentucky. Their wood workmanship is truly inspiring, but simple and artistic.
