Field Trip Filoli Summer Nights

Field Trips are back.  We're taking advantage of a favorite location for club members -- Filoli Garden.

On this day, Filoli closes at 4:30pm, clears the property of visitors, and re-opens at 5 pm to stay open until 8pm instead of the usual 5pm.  This is the opportunity to see and photograph Filoli in its best light during Golden Hour and Sunset.  Best of all, we'll enjoy refreshing drinks while socializing with long time and new friends from the Camera Club.

We will not have exclusive access to Filoli on this day, we are using an existing Filoli event

Gathering Point, Food and Drink at this Filoli Event

People tend to gather near the swimming pool, as there is music from performing musicians at the pavilion near the swimming pool.  Some people bring blankets to sit on the lawn in this area.

The plan is for PACC members to also gather here when they are not taking photos.

In the adjacent Olive grove, there is a bar serving wine, beer and a limited selection of cocktails.  There is also a food truck (Mexican food when I attended on July 7).

Quail's Nest Cafe at Filoli stays upon until 7:30pm instead of the usual 4:30pm closing time.

Filoli discourages people from bringing their own food and drink on a large scale, as they expect to raise funds for Filoli through food and drink sales, but you can bring drinks and a sandwich in your backpack or camera bag if you prefer.

If you decide to be at Filoli on the afternoon of Sept 9 and want to stay until 8pm for Summer Nights, you will need a regular day ticket and another ticket for the Summer Night session from 5 pm to 8 pm.

BOOK YOUR TICKETS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (see below), as Summer Nights tickets at Filoli sell out many weeks in advance.
