The Wheelhouse of Willow Glen will host an exhibition, COVID’sEND, of 80 to 100 images by PACC member Susan Harding.

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the lives of nearly everyone.  Over time, Susan felt that her connections to others had grown stronger, and she became deeply interested in how lives had changed for families in her community.  This summer, she used social media to ask families, most of whom she hadn’t known previously, to volunteer to be photographed.

During these sessions, Susan double-masked and visited families in their homes, spending hours photographing them, mostly unposed, as they went about their lives.  In addition, she also made “porch photos”, asking her subjects to hold signs with messages to share about their experiences and challenges during the pandemic.

To read more about Susan’s experiences during and thoughts about the pandemic, you can check out her June 2021 blog entry at https://susanhardingphotography.com/2021/06/25/covid-and-community/.

COVID’sEND will run from November 5 through December 13.  The opening reception for will take place 5 to 8 PM on Friday, November 5.

The Wheelhouse is a family-owned community space in Willow Glen that aims to help you enjoy “all of the best things ranging from live music, local artists, and comedy”.
