Images by Nadine Levin Selected for Inclusion in Three Expositions

Ellen Gilkerson | Published on 7/24/2023

Images by PACC member Nadine Levin have been selected for inclusion in three upcoming expositions.

Rusty with Age was accepted by PH21 Gallery in Budapest, for the TIME exposition, which will take place August 24 through September 16.  The challenge to photographers in this exposition was to depict the passing of time or to capture a fleeting moment in a still image.  The juror was PH21 Gallery executive director Zsolt Bátori.  Although Nadine created a series on Time several years ago, she had never before seen a call for images based on the concept.  Rusty with Age was not part of her original series; however, it’s likely that it will become part of it now.

PH21 Gallery is a contemporary exhibition space that was established in 2012 in Budapest.  The mission of the gallery is to provide group and solo exhibition opportunities and international exposure for contemporary photographers around the world.

Mother Loved Flowers has been selected for placement on The Curated Fridge in its open-theme Summer Show in Somerville, MA.  The juror for the exposition was Orestes Gonzalez, the curator at Culture Lab LIC.  The image is part of Nadine’s long-term project about the objects her mother left behind when she passed.  It is located on the front of the refrigerator section, fourth row, second from right, not far from the handle.  The exhibition is on the fridge right now and will travel to Long Island City in August and be on display at Culture Lab LIC..

Yorgos Efthymiadis, an artist/curator, created the gallery, The Curated Fridge, in his kitchen in 2015.  The Fridge calls for print entries, no larger than 5”x5” or 4”x6”, four times a year.  The selected images are affixed to the refrigerator, and the exhibit is presented online via social media platforms.  The motivation behind the project is to celebrate fine art photography and connect photographers from around the world.

Bringing the Forgotten into Today's Light was selected for inclusion in the SE Center for Photography’s exhibition on the theme of Forgotten – people, places, and belongings that once mattered, now unremembered, out of mind, left behind.  The exhibition will take place September 1 through September 30.  The juror was Paula Tognarelli, former executive director and curator of the Griffin Museum of Photography.  This image is also part of Nadine’s long-term project about the objects her mother left behind.

The SE Center for Photography is an exhibition and educational venue in Greenville, SC, that promotes the art and enjoyment of fine photography.  It provides local, national, and international photographers of all skill levels the opportunity to have their work presented and enjoyed by collectors, curators, enthusiasts, and colleagues.
